Mortgage proposal

Placing a home as a guarantee to apply for credit is a complicated and time-consuming process. Bcredi is founded to use technology to change this scenario, but one of the main difficulties in this process appears right at the beginning: a pile of paperwork.

Problem

How to request a large amount of complex information, and ensure that users fill it out to the end?

Solution

Designing a well-targeted request flow keeping the user engaged to the end.

Organization

Until the moment when the costumer receives the money, there is an extensive list of processes that require a lot of information about the owners and documents of the property.

Our first step was to understand what data was essential at each stage of the process then we defined the best way to organize and request this information.

The most common way for users to submit a mortgage proposal is after simulating how much will be paid in fees and interest on the Bcredi’s website. To do this simulation some contact details are requested, simplifying the registration of new users.

Data filling

After users create an account, the most complicated part of the process begins, filling in all information and sending documents.

Forms

Because most of the process is composed of texts fields and we had a significant part of accesses coming from mobile devices, we put an extra effort to ensure that the forms were clean and accessible at the same time.

Perception of progress

One of our main concerns was that users give up in the process because of the large amount of information requested. As we could not decrease the amount of information requested, we create a perception of progress showing the user how much he had already filled out.
